A dedicated neurology service is available at SASH. Neurologic conditions can involve problems with the brain, spinal cord, nerves or muscles. Dr Georgina Child is a registered specialist in veterinary neurology and had years of experience in dealing with neurologic cases that can range from the simple to the complex. Dr Child is the only registered specialist neurologist in Australia and is not only extremely talented but is compassionate and understanding and is well known throughout Australia for her excellent management of patients with complex neurologic problems.

Neourologic disease can result in a variety of signs including fits (seizures), weakness, paralysis, changes in behaviour or loss of senses (blindness, deafness) or incoordination.

As part of our investigation into these cases, we may recommend blood tests, specialized imaging such as myelograms, CT or MRI, spinal taps and nerve and muscle biopsies.
