In 1992 John completed a Masters in Veterinary Studies with Murdoch University. He then embarked on speciality training spending time at the University of Florida and the University of Sydney becoming a Specialist Small Animal Surgeon in 1998. Since then John has worked as a Specialist Surgeon in Sydney, attending many international meetings and gaining expertise in the latest surgical techniques. His main interests now lie in minimally invasive surgery such as laparoscopy and interventional radiography.
John is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (FANZCVS) and for several years was active in the College, and served as President of the Surgery Chapter for two terms. John is a member of the Veterinary Endoscopy Society (VES) and the Veterinary Interventional Radiology and Interventional Endoscopy Society (VIRIES).
John recently moved to the Central Coast where leisure time is spent with his family, at the beach and restoring an old sports car. John and his wife share their home with “Taffy” his energetic Welsh Springer Spaniel and “Tammy” his smoochy Burmese cat.
He is one of the country’s most experienced and respected practitioners and surgeons and will be well known to many practices on the coast and beyond. It is a great privilege to have John working in the practice and lending his wealth of experience to our patients, clients, referring vets and to teaching of our junior veterinarians and surgical trainees
