Dr. Thomas Keeshen graduated from University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in the top of his class. Prior to his veterinary degree, he obtained a bachelors degree in Zoology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. During his Zoology degree, he worked at a specialty surgical practice, where he first witnessed the benefits of veterinary surgery.
After graduation from veterinary school, he completed a year long rotating internship at the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. There he excelled at surgery and was asked to stay on for another year as a surgical intern. He continued to advance his training by completing a three-year surgical residency at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, California. Thomas has completed all his post-residency examinations and is now a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Thomas enjoys all aspects of surgery but is especially interested in complex fracture repair, skin reconstructive surgery, and thoracic surgery. He is also interested in minimally invasive surgery with a publication in minimally invasive surgery in dogs with underlying coagulopathies.
